THE LONG-AWAITED MIKE PLOOG CAREER RETROSPECTIVE ART BOOK IS HERE! GET IT NOW!
Hello, fellow Ploog fans! We are happy to tell you that the wait is over. Finally, there's a comprehensive art book on Mike Ploog. This 352-page retrospective covers almost every aspect of Mike’s career, from his earliest days of working with “Leatherneck" magazine, while he was still in the Marines, right up through his latest work on “Goliath.” “The Art of Ploog” contains, quite literally, hundreds of pieces of art from throughout his career, as well as commentary by the master himself.
You’ll find all his best known works in this book. Included is the work he did for Marvel comics (on titles such as “Frankenstein,” “Ghost Rider,” “Planet of the Apes,” and “Werewolf By Night”), as well as a wide range of his film work on animated features (such as “Lord of the Rings,” “Shrek,” and “Wizards”) and live-action features (including “Little Shop of Horrors,” “The Thing,” and “X-Men”). The book also contains many of his most popular paintings; paintings that were created for his own fantasy art trading card series; as well as paintings he worked on for the collectible card games “Guardians” and “Magic the Gathering,” most of which have never been reproduced larger than trading card size. It’s the ultimate collection spanning his entire career.
This is the book for all our fellow Ploogies out there. We hope you’ll join us for the most comprehensive work ever produced on the magical worlds of Mike Ploog.

Writer Michael Friedlander and artist Mike Ploog take you on a magical, mythical journey of prehistoric proportions!
GOLIATH is an 11.5" x 11.5" large format, 88-page richly-painted storybook. The story follows the adventures of a small family of prehistoric people named the Ty clan. The Ty clan live in very difficult times and face incredible dangers every day. To survive, they must embark upon an epic journey to discover a new world and the peace they have always dreamed of. They find great strength and determination in their belief in magnificent stories, passed down through the generations, that speak of giant Guardians that protect and watch over them. As the story unfolds, we will find out if these are just age-old tales the clan elders tell while sitting around the fire or if these great Guardians prove to be so much more...
Created and written by Michael Friedlander and lavishly illustrated by Michael Ploog. For ages seven and up. Also available in a signed and numbered edition with a variant cover limited to 175 copies.
The Thicker Than Blood comics are a three-issue series written by Simon Reed, penciled and inked by Mike Ploog and painted by Simon Bisley.
Now, for the first time, each stunning page is published at full size for all to behold. This is an “original-art-sized edition” unlike any before it. Not only does the book reproduce the art at the original size it was created, it also represents the work of TWO artists, not just one. Further, it covers the mediums of line and paint, side by side.
As you will see, both artists brought something very special to the project. This is Mike Ploog at the top of his game, drawing material he could really sink his teeth into. The comics have all of the classic Ploog elements: a gothic tale with Frankenstein-like themes, a Jekyll-and-Hyde type of character and, of course, a werewolf! How could this not be right up his alley?
But, it’s not enough that the compositions and drawings are “dripping Ploog” at his best; Simon Bisley’s work amplifies and expands on Ploog’s skillfully laid-out pages. You will experience just how much thought and time Bisley put into each and every panel. For the long-time Ploog fans out there: Not since the days of Frank Chiaramonte laying down wonderful inks to Mike Ploog’s pencils has another artist’s work complemented Ploog’s drawings as well as Simon Bisley’s.
It’s really good stuff, and we believe that fans of both Mike Ploog and Simon Bisley will really enjoy seeing Thicker Than Blood in this format!
